Cut and stack glue labels

Cut and stack labels are labels printed on large sheet or rolls. Then, once removed from the printing press, stacks of the label sheets are cut into the correct shape, sometimes using pre-made die cuts, and stacked. They’re typically applied to products by overlapping the label and gluing it to itself, though they are sometimes glued onto the product directly, as is often the case with beer bottle labels.

Applications for cut and stack labels

Cut and stack glue labels are found in a wide variety of markets and are common for the following products:

  • Beer
  • Non-alcoholic beverages
  • Food items
  • Household goods

They’re used on many cans, bottles and jars and are used for all types of store brand products. In particular, many brands select a cut and stack label for their high-volume or high-SKU orders, as they provide strong economies of scale. But they’re less common for short orders, where pressure-sensitive labels made with digital printing are more economical.
