class=\"kt-inside-inner-col\">\n<p>Hailing from sunny Santa Monica, Dani Blanco has spent her entire career honing her skills in cost negotiations, procurement assistance, inventory control and merchandising management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This expertise is why&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/tasteofnatureinc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Taste of Nature<\/a>, a candy and snack food manufacturer owned by the Chicago-based&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/candyasap.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Candy ASAP<\/a>, hired her in mid-2021. She reports directly to the owners, who have tasked her with many high-pressure responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI work directly with the Q&amp;A team as well as the Research and Development team in Melrose Park. So I\u2019m reaching out to vendors to get labels printed, get stuff here on time, keep track of all the projects in development, ingredient decks, deal with international customers \u2014 just making sure everybody stays on point and we keep our timelines.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quick-thinking is a must in this role. On just her second day, she faced a monster assignment: procuring 6,000 last-minute cover-up labels. Their edible cookie dough client,&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/tasteofnatureinc.com\/doughlish-edible-cooke-dough\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Doughlish<\/a>, needed to change the flavor on a surplus of triple chocolate brownie tubs. The change required new wording, nutritional panels and colors \u2014 while fitting perfectly onto the container without drawing any attention to the cover up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.resourcelabel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/taste-of-nature-2-pints-1024x725.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12385\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the time, Dani didn\u2019t know anything about label vendors. But while some people might have caved under the pressure, she turned to Google.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Close proximity was key, so she limited her search to label providers in the Chicagoland area. And in her results,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.resourcelabel.com\/label-printing\/pamco-label-chicago\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pamco Label<\/a>&nbsp;offered the highest customer reviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI just cold-called them and said, \u2018Help!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the end, she didn\u2019t just secure an on-time quality product at a reasonable cost. She got a crash course in commercial label engineering, which was just what she needed to succeed. And that\u2019s all because of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/glenn-chelius-7b88a3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Glenn Chelius.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe made it so easy for me and taught me real quick about labels, how they work, what I was looking for, what kind of label we needed, how many colors were in it, what we could use, what we couldn\u2019t, pretty much everything. I had&nbsp;<em>never<\/em>&nbsp;done that before. He really did teach me a lot,\u201d she said. \u201cOtherwise, it would\u2019ve been a catastrophe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That failure wouldn\u2019t have just been hard to swallow. It could have cost her job. Instead, partnering with Pamco helped Dani triumph in her first big assignment \u2014 and prove her worth in her new role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong> \u2014 Melrose Park, IL<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The problem<\/strong> \u2014 6,000 mislabeled product containers<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The solution<\/strong> \u2014 Digitally-printed white BOPP cover-up labels<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Result<\/strong> \u2014 Perfect execution of concept and need within budget<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bonus<\/strong> \u2014 Earned a spot as a long-term vendor<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201cI just cold-called them and said, \u2018Help!\u2019\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dani already had in-mold labels (IML) on 6,000 14-ounce Doughlish tubs. The problem: They said \u201ctriple chocolate brownie,\u201d and she needed them converted to \u201cchocolate chip cookie dough bites\u201d instead. But cover-up labels are complicated \u2014 they must be opaque enough to change the design without drawing attention to the original misprint or causing barcode interference \u2014 and their regular vendor\u2019s price exceeded the project\u2019s budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnd then I found Glenn, thank you whoever you pray to for that, because he\u2019s amazing,\u201d she said. \u201cI basically just told him what I was looking for: Can you do something like this? What\u2019s your turnaround time? Here was the price we need to be at \u2014 can you meet it?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To her relief, Glenn could do that and more. In that one phone call, he used his expertise to guide her through considerations like materials, colors and curves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThen I could go to my team and say, \u2018Here\u2019s our choices. Help me decide.\u2019 He gave me the options I needed for me to make educated decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dani would also later learn that Pamco, which gave her the friendly personal touch of a local business, is part of Resource Label Group. She had inadvertently partnered with one of the most wide-reaching label providers in the nation \u2014 and was about to directly benefit from the power of our coast-to-coast network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Friendly, fair and fast<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dani faces two main challenges in her role: \u201cTime and time. I\u2019m not kidding. My biggest job is to get things done in a timely manner and turn things around quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But in this supply chain climate, \u201cfast\u201d is rare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJust trying to get stuff here or to our warehouse \u2014 whether it be raw materials, a sample, whatever \u2014 has been a source of contention,\u201d said Blanco. \u201cEverything,&nbsp;<em>everything,&nbsp;<\/em>is delayed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dani was smart to zero in on Pamco for its locality, just seven miles from the Melrose Park facility. Throughout that first project, Glenn just got in his car and delivered samples to her partners in person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s how close he is. And he goes above and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their project moved fast. She sent art files at the end of July. Less than a week later, Glenn delivered mockups and price quotes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnd by August 16, we had our final everything approved and ready to go. By September 9, we had our delivery. He was able to produce it quickly at a reasonable cost and it looked beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Glenn achieved this by opting for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.resourcelabel.com\/digital-label-printing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">digital printing<\/a>, which reduced the cost-per-unit of the White BOPP labels and permitted the rapid turnaround. To ensure opacity, Pamco also used inks and printing processes to ensure maximum opacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.resourcelabel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/taste-of-nature-1-pint-1024x990.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12384\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Doughlish was thrilled by the speed, quality and cost of the cover-up labels. And as a result, Dani\u2019s bosses were thrilled with her, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt felt great,\u201d Dani said. \u201cYou have no idea. And I can\u2019t wait to get this next one done like that. Glenn is now definitely in our pool of vendors when it comes to labels and things of that nature.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And when Dani was later instructed to secure 200,000 labels for&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/tasteofnatureinc.com\/product-galleries\/cotton-candy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Swirlz<sup>TM&nbsp;<\/sup>cotton candy<\/a>, she knew just who to call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>\u201cHe has been so wonderful, absolutely wonderful. I used to tell him all the time, \u2018You\u2019re my savior.\u2019\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Dani started her search just looking for a cost-efficient label provider capable of fast turnarounds.
