Blending bold branding with sustainability

GHOST's shrink sleeves blend the brand's bold designs with sustainability.
GHOST’s shrink sleeves are sustainable and mouth-watering at the same time.

Looking at the bright, colorful labels turned out by Chicago-based sports nutrition supplement maker GHOST, you feel like you’re in a video game. And your mouth waters thinking about all their flavors, like Cinnabon, Welch’s Grape Juice, Sonic drinks and candies like Swedish Fish.

GHOST’s flavor scientists are creative and innovative, and their product packaging needs to live up to that hype.

“Our industry has been stagnant for so long. It’s time for something new. It’s time for the industry to go somewhere it’s never been before,” co-founders Ryan Hughes and Daniel Lourenco explain.

“Our goal is to be the first to provide solid, fully disclosed formulas; dope designs; serious attention to detail; innovative, authentic flavors; and exclusive partnerships and collabs. We’re challenging ourselves to raise the bar in every way possible,” they say.

One way GHOST is raising the bar: wrapping its products in vivid, yet sustainable labels created by Dallas-based McDowell Label, a Resource Label Group company. Making GHOST’s packaging friendlier to the planet is a “huge focus” for the company moving forward.

Using PET shrink sleeves allows the company to “do what we do creatively as a brand while also being environmentally conscious,” explains Hughes, GHOST’s chief marketing officer.

“As we continue to strive towards sustainability, we don’t want to lose all of the cool creative elements we’ve built through the GHOST brand,” he notes. “The solutions that McDowell Label has presented us with allows us to do both.”

Ryan Hughes, chief marketing officer of GHOST, discusses how Resource Label Group helped the supplement company combine bold branding and sustainability in its shrink sleeves.
