Fragrance oil contact on glass bottle exteriors attacks standard pressure-sensitive adhesives through plasticizer migration – the same mechanism as petroleum contact on motor oil labels but with essential oil and synthetic fragrance compound chemistry. Oil-resistant adhesive bond must maintain integrity through the full 2-4 month diffuser evaporation period during which fragrance oil continuously contacts the bottle exterior. Premium paper substrates – cotton fiber, laid paper, and textured stock – carry embossing and foil stamping with a tactile quality that film substrates cannot match. Small-format label geometry on slim diffuser bottles constrains brand artwork, fragrance name, and ingredient disclosure within a label area as narrow as 2-3 inches.
